Description
A comforting classic dessert featuring a buttery graham cracker crust layered with cream cheese, whipped cream, caramel, and toasted pecans.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups whipped cream
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers with the melted butter. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand, then press firmly into the bottom of your serving dish.
- Mix the cream cheese base: Beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Fold in the whipped cream, using a spatula to maintain the light and fluffy texture. Be careful not to overmix.
- Layer the filling: Spread half of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust.
- Drizzle and add pecans: Drizzle half of the caramel sauce across the cream cheese layer and sprinkle half of the chopped pecans on top.
- Repeat the process with the remaining cream cheese mixture, another drizzle of caramel sauce, and the remaining pecans.
- Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least four hours, or until set. This step allows the flavors to meld.
Notes
Make-ahead wonder: Prepare the night before for the best flavor. Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature to prevent lumps.
