Description
A refreshing summer drink that combines the sweetness of raspberries with the tartness of lemons, creating a vibrant and invigorating beverage.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh raspberries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 5 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices and raspberries for garnish
Instructions
- Begin by making the raspberry syrup. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of fresh raspberries, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water. Place it over medium heat, stirring gently until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- Strain the mixture. Once the raspberries have broken down and turned the liquid a stunning pink hue, remove it from the heat. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or back into the saucepan, pressing down on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the seeds and pulp.
- Add the zest. Stir in 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice and the additional 5 cups of cold water. Taste your lemonade, adjusting sweetness if needed by adding more sugar or water to taste.
- Serve and enjoy. Fill glasses with ice and pour the refreshing mixture over. Garnish with lemon slices and a few fresh raspberries for a beautiful presentation!
Notes
For an adult twist, consider adding a splash of vodka or gin. Experiment with herbs like mint or basil for an aromatic twist!
