Description

A classic comfort food dish featuring juicy beef patties smothered in rich mushroom gravy.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Shape the mixture into oval-shaped patties, about ¾-inch thick.
  3. Sear the patties in olive oil over medium heat for about 4 minutes per side.
  4. Sauté the onions and garlic in the same skillet until softened.
  5. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until browned and tender.
  6. Simmer with beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, then return patties to skillet and cover for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Serve the patties topped with the mushroom gravy.

Notes

Prepare patties ahead of time and store in the refrigerator. For quicker cooking, use an air fryer or oven bake.
