Classic American Salisbury Steak with golden-brown patties, pan-seared and served in a luscious mushroom gravy.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix until just blended and shape into oval patties.
- Sear the patties in a heated skillet with butter for about 4 minutes on each side until browned. Transfer to a plate.
- Sauté the sliced mushrooms in the same skillet until softened and golden, about 3-4 minutes.
- Make the gravy by sprinkling flour over the mushrooms and whisking in the beef broth gradually. Cook until thickened.
- Simmer the patties in the gravy for about 20 minutes, ensuring they cook through.
- Serve the Salisbury Steak hot with gravy, paired with your favorite sides.
