Description

A decadent salted caramel apple pie with a flaky crust, packed with cinnamon-infused apples and drizzled with rich caramel sauce.


Ingredients

  • 46 Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled and sliced)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for dotting)
  • 1 egg (beaten with a tablespoon of water for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Mix the sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch in a large bowl.
  3. Roll out your pie crust until it fits comfortably in your pie dish.
  4. Fill the pie crust with the apple mixture and drizzle salted caramel sauce over the top.
  5. Dot with butter atop the filling.
  6. Top with a second pie crust, sealing the edges and cutting slits for steam.
  7. Glaze the top crust with egg wash.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
  9. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a twist, substitute apples with pears or add a splash of vanilla extract. Blind bake the crust to prevent sogginess.
