A delicious and easy recipe for homemade slow cooker apple butter, combining sweet, caramelized apples with warm spices, perfect for spreading on toast or adding to oatmeal.

- 6 pounds of apples, peeled and cored
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon of allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
Instructions
- Prep the apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them into small pieces.
- Combine the chopped apples with sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, salt, and lemon juice in the slow cooker.
- Slow cook on low for 8–10 hours until apples are soft and fragrant.
- Blend the mixture using an immersion blender until smooth.
- Thicken the apple butter uncovered on low for an additional 1–2 hours.
- Jar the apple butter and store in the refrigerator.
Notes
Feel free to mix different apple varieties for a unique flavor. This apple butter can also be canned for longer storage.
