Description
A warm, comforting slow cooker apple butter made from a blend of sweet and tart apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of lemon juice.
Ingredients

- 4–5 pounds of apples (Fuji, Gala, or Cortland)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- Juice of 1 lemon
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker.
- Mix together thoroughly, coating the apples with sugar.
- Cover and set your slow cooker to low, cooking for 8-10 hours.
- Blend the mixture using an immersion blender or potato masher to your desired consistency.
- Cook uncovered on low for an additional hour to thicken.
- Cool before transferring to jars for storage.

For optimal flavor, use a mix of sweet and tart apples. Store in airtight glass jars; it keeps well in the fridge for up to 2-3 weeks.
