Description

Delightful bagels infused with the comforting flavors of snickerdoodles, featuring a chewy texture and a sweet cinnamon-sugar coating.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon in a mixing bowl.
  2. Pour in the warm water and olive oil; mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each into bagels.
  5. Bring water to a gentle boil in a large pot and boil the bagels for about 30 seconds on each side.
  6. Mix the remaining sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
  7. Remove the bagels from the boiling water, let cool, then roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the bagels for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using freshly grated nutmeg in the dough. They can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
