- 1 cup pecans
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Toast the pecans in a skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring often.
- Combine the sugar, butter, and heavy cream in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir gently until the sugar dissolves, then bring to a simmer.
- Boil the mixture for 5 minutes without stirring to develop the caramel flavor.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and pinch of salt.
- Fold in the toasted pecans until coated in caramel.
