A delightful pull-apart garlic bread made using sourdough discard, infused with garlic and cheese, perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients

- 2 cups sourdough discard
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Combine the sourdough discard, warm water, sugar, and yeast in a mixing bowl, letting it sit for about 10 minutes.
- Mix in the salt and flour, stirring until a dough forms, then knead for about 5-7 minutes.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare small balls from the risen dough, rolling them in melted butter mixed with garlic.
- Assemble the dough balls in a greased baking dish, sprinkling cheese between layers.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown, garnishing with parsley before serving.
Notes
Allow leftovers to cool and store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. For longer storage, freeze individual pieces.
