Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • Cookies and cream frosting (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Crack in the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. Pour in the milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour and baking powder in another bowl, then gradually add it to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter in half and fold cocoa powder into one half.
  6. Pour spoonfuls of vanilla and chocolate batter alternately into the prepared pan to create the zebra pattern.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Frost with cookies and cream frosting once cooled.
